7th Balloon Festival at the 'Europapark'

Also in 2002, Andreas and Alexander Schmiauke, Werner and me were lucky enough to be invited to the Balloon Festival at the 'Europapark', which is the biggest Theme Park in Europe, after EuroDisney at Paris.

On thursday, after the press conference, we launched our model balloons to do some photo shooting - even though it was raining!

The Vice Miss Germany and Jürgen Mack, owner of the 'Europapark', were also there to be photographed.

Dunno what the Vice Miss Germany was doing there... rumours say that she was only there to see us... but after all, it's only rumours... ;-)

On Friday, the weather was better, and so we were able to put up our balloons inside the park, right in front of the 'EuroMir' rollercoaster.

In the evening, the traditional night glow was to be held at the launch field. Hundreds of spectators were fascinated by the balloons shining to thrilling music.

But we not there just to go ballooning - the new hypercoaster 'SilverStar' had to be explored! Alexander Schmiauke did this in a really thorough way - he even tested the kid's seesaw in the waiting hall ;-)

Maybe it was his bed which had a rejuvenating effect on him... *ggg*

...that is, we were accomodated in four-bed-rooms, and the Schmiauke brothers spontaneously had decided for the kid's beds ;-)

Of course, they had brought along their new model balloon 'D-OMBS', which you can see here in front of the impressing skyline of the 'SilverStar'.

At the closing event on Sunday, our penguin and cat were there as well.

And our cat had a special eye on the 'Euromouse', which is the mascot of the park...

The little girl under the costume probably didn't even know which danger she was in!

Seems like they got along well though... ;-) The organizers were also satisfied with us, and so we are already invited for next year.

At the end, I want to thank the nice girl from the 'SilverStar'-team who made it possible for us to ride the roller coaster almost one and a half hour nonstop on Monday :-)))
