12th Balloon Meeting at Bad Griesbach

Every year, on the third weekend of August, the Balloon Meeting at Bad Griesbach takes place. And our model balloons are a fixture there so much, that we are even allowed to keep our (specially custom-made *g*) basket number tags from one year to the next ;-)

On Friday morning, the balloons launched at the spa gardens of Bad Griesbach for their first flight.

In the warm morning sun they headed westwards, and some of the pilots really came quite close to the fox balloon they had to chase this morning.

The landing of our friends of the "Balloon Team Weiler" was quite spectacular: A friendly farmer helped us to get our basket and envelope from the field to our car. A thing you don't see every day! :-)

In the afternoon, we launched our model balloons on the square between the hotels of Bad Griesbach in order to attract some more people to come to the evening start of the balloons.

After the big balloons had taken off, the spa gardens were ours again. And Matthias with his Penguin was followed by dozens of kids all the time! Probably, we were a credit to the Pied Piper of Hamelin once more ;-)

Stroking allowed: Our cat also enjoyed great popularity among the children.

After nightfall, the balloons were inflated for the night glow, which was accompanied by beautiful music and so became a special highlight again. There was only one thing even more fascinating...

...the firework! Somehow, these pyrotechnicians never seem to run out of new ideas...

But this warm, wonderful summernight marked the end of the ballooning activities - on Saturday morning, the rain came, and the balloons had to stay in their trailers for the rest of the weekend.

As it is known, however, Bad Griesbach offers a wide variety of alternative activities - for example the "Moststüble" where you can get that tasty drink... *g*
