Youth Camp of the Balloon Club of Stuttgart

In 2009, the Whitsun Youth Camp of the Balloon Club of Stuttgart took place in the Nördlinger Ries for the first time - the organisers had found an idyllic old stone quarry where we could put up our tents for the next four days.

The weather showed a lot of variation during these days: Thunderstorms, hot summer sun, pouring rain and mild evenings were in store for the 50 participants. This caused a great variation in the daily programme, too: We visited the town of Nördlingen and the Ries Crater Museum, went to the local swimming pool, had a nice balloon flight as well as model balloon flights and evenings 'round the campfire. Surely, there was no boredom to come up!
