Balloon Meeting at Tannheimer Tal

In January 2007, the model balloons were invited to the Balloon Meeting at Tannheimer Tal for the first time - and though there was no snow, the weather on Saturday was really great!

The model balloons present were, apart from our Penguin, Michael Kampmann with his Smiley balloon...

... Andreas Schmiauke with the Panda Bear and his new O-type envelope...

... and Martin Eutermoser and Martin Kaiser with their two foxes.

The organiser of the Tannheim balloon meeting, Rudi Höfer from Schwäbisch Hall, was very happy seeing the two little foxes, as he also is the owner of the two "big" fox balloons. "Didn't even notice they were pregnant!" was his surprised comment.

Liftoff into the cloudless sky above the Tannheim valley.

In the afternoon, Matthias was lucky enough to get a place in the basket of Rudi Höfer and his trainee pilot "Reserl" ;-)

We had a fantastic view over the alps at 6500 feet.

Ever reached the top of a mountain so easily?
;-)

Our flight led us away from the alps, where we had a wonderful view over the lakes Weißensee, Hopfensee, Forggensee and the town of Füssen. A little further away, we could also see Schloss Neuschwanstein.

Close encounters in the air - this glider seemed to have much fun circuiting around us.

After almost three hours of flight, it was time to go down again - as the meadow we had landed on seemed a bit too muddy to pack the balloon, we transported it to a dry one with the chase vehicle ;-)

Unfortunately, the beautiful weather didn't continue on Sunday, so no more flights were possible... well, maybe next year.
