5th Balloon Meeting at Tegernsee

Already when checking in, we saw the penguin grinning from the title page of the local event magazine - and the feeling to once more be guest at a cool balloon meeting turned out true in the end. Fine weather, a well-done organisation and many friends made the "5th Tegernseer Tal Montgolfiade" an unforgettable weekend.

Concerning ballooning, we had to be patient at first - on Thursday, weather didn't allow a start. So we drove to the nearby Wallberg mountain and tried out the 6.5 km sled ride - lots of fun that was!

On Friday, finally, we could fly. And as there was a lack of passengers, we model balloonists were happy to make ourselves available as ballast :-)

Thank you Hardy and crew for the nice ride!

In the evening, the model balloons did a night glow at the festival area.

The dinner afterwards, presented by the "Wirtegemeinschaft Bad Wiessee", was really delicious - and the dessert, in fact, was looking like a little balloon! Still don't have a clue how they made that chocolate envelope...

Saturday welcome us with a cloudless sky. One after the other, the balloon crews took to the sky. The Balloon Club of Stuttgart had brought along their 1000m³ "Stuttgarter Hofbräu" gas balloon again.

And I had the pleasure to fly with Michael Wimmer in the "Rottaler Fruchtsaft" balloon :)

The wonderful view over the alps is really hard to describe...

Shadows over snow covered forests - an idyllic view.

On Saturday evening, the winter event tour of the bayern3 radio station took place at Bad Wiessee. Two moderators, the crossover band H-Blockx and the bayern3 band kept us warm and entertained at temperatures of about 17 degrees below zero.

On Sunday, the weather was again wonderful, and the 35 balloons covered the blue sky with coloured spots.

Of course, our penguin and cat were also there - as it seems, the have evolved to an important part of this balloon meeting.

So we'll probably be back in 2006 =)
